Parade Location And Route:

The Long Island Carnival will jump off from Oak Street between Hempstead Tpke. and Commercial Ave. in Uniondale,
NY, turn onto Westbury Blvd., head down and around Charles Lindbergh Blvd., and end at Mitchel Field Athletic Complex.
Save yourself from traffic, save gas, save money, take the
Long Island Railroad!.




Directions (by car):

From Brooklyn & Queens via Belt Pkwy:
Take Belt Pkwy East to Southern State Pkwy.

To See The Parade and Shows (Revellers)

  • Take Southern State Pkwy. Exit 22N (Meadowbrook Pkwy. North).
  • Take Meadowbrook Pkwy. Exit M4 (Hempstead Tpke. West).
  • Turn right at second traffic light (Earle Ovington Blvd.), follow signs into Parking Lot.

    Bands, Troupes, etc.
  • Take Southern State Pkwy. Exit 19N (Peninsula Blvd. North).
  • Travel 1.5 miles on Peninsula Blvd. to Front St., Turn Right.
  • Front St. becomes Hempstead Tpke.
  • Masqueraders and Bands can join parade at corner of Oak Street and Hempstead Tpke.
  • Continue on and make Left at the 2nd traffic light (Earle Ovington Blvd.), follow signs into Parking Lot.

    From Brooklyn & Queens via Grand Central Pkwy:

  • Grand Central Pkwy East, turns into Northern State Pkwy.
  • Exit Northern State Pkwy Exit 31A, Meadowbrook Pkwy.
  • Exit Meadowbrook Pkwy Exit M4 (exit is a service road).
  • Take second exit off of service road to Hempstead Tpke.
  • Turn right at second traffic light (Earle Ovington Blvd.), follow signs into Parking Lot.

    From Bronx:

  • Throgs Neck or Whitestone Bridge to Cross Island Pkwy.
  • Exit Cross Island Pkwy Exit 29E (Grand Central Pkwy).
  • Follow directions for Brooklyn & Queens via Grand Central Pkwy.

    From Eastern Long Island:

  • Take Southern State Pkwy. West.
  • Take Southern State Pkwy. Exit 22N (Meadowbrook Pkwy. North).
  • Take Meadowbrook Pkwy. Exit M4 (Hempstead Tpke. West).
  • Turn right at first traffic light into Parking Lot.
  • Turn right at second traffic light (Earle Ovington Blvd.), follow signs into Parking Lot.

    From Southeast U.S.:

  • I-95 to Exit 13, I-278 Staten Island.
  • Follows signs to Verrazano Bridge.
  • Exit left onto Belt Pkwy East.
  • Follow directions for Brooklyn & Queens via Belt Pkwy.

    From Northeast U.S.:
    Follow directions for Bronx.


    Directions for Buses:

    Note: Parkways on Long Island have height restrictions and will not permit bus traffic; vans are allowed. Buses must use Expressways. Travelling on Parkways WILL damage your bus. This includes the Belt, Northern State, Southern State, and Meadowbrook Parkways. The Long Island Expressway (LIE) and Sunrise Highway allow bus traffic.

    Buses, From Long Island Expressway (LIE):

  • Long Island Expressway to Exit 39, Glen Cove Road
  • Turn South on Glen Cove Road (Right Turn if coming from Brooklyn & Queens; Left Turn if coming from Eastern Long Island)
  • Travel on Glen Cove Road, name will change to Clifton Road
  • Turn Left onto Hempstead Tpke.
  • Buses can drop-off Masqueraders and Bands to join parade at corner of Oak Street and Hempstead Tpke.
  • Continue on and make Left at the 2nd traffic light (Earle Ovington Blvd.), follow signs into Parking Lot.

    Buses, From Sunrise Highway:

  • Turn Left onto Peninsula Blvd.
  • Travel five (5) miles on Peninsula Blvd. to Front St., Turn Right.
  • Front St. becomes Hempstead Tpke.
  • Masqueraders and Bands can join parade at corner of Oak Street and Hempstead Tpke.
  • Continue on and make Left at the 2nd traffic light (Earle Ovington Blvd.), follow signs into Parking Lot.


    Public Transportation:
    Escape traffic, save Gas, save Money! Only $10.50 (children $5.50) round-trip from NYC!!
    The MTA
    Long Island Rail Road will travelling to and from the Carnival all day long for a reduced fare!
    Take the LIRR from Brooklyn, from Queens & Manhattan, or from Eastern Long Island to the Hempstead Station.
    From there, an MTA shuttle or a short 4-block walk will take you to the Parade Route.
